HELLO, AND WELCOME!

B esides my work in radio and television, I wanted to create and share on a platform that would be all me and all mine. This is it.

“Because when that red light goes on and the mic or camera goes live, you can’t keep it 💯.”

Y ou force a smile (because smiling, even fake, makes you sound better) and you perform. If indeed all the world’s a stage, I can at least be myself here, right?

Thank you for visiting my blog! Please keep in mind that my views here are not the views of those I work with. This is all me. I focus on technology, media, and my life. There’s more about me below.

Media Man In Manila

Blog

Sometimes I have an idea, but when I begin to write it, I realize I actually have no idea at all. Such is Life. LOL. So, I write to think — not to express an idea but to get to one. Writing is just the best way for me to get to that idea.

Radio

My work in media started in radio. But after 6 years at Mellow947, I quit. I quit to pursue greater and greener challenges pushing radio to the future. That future is both in FM 1 and in podcasting.

Television

After radio, there’s TV. I got into TV by hosting a tech show called CONVERGENCE in 2013. But TV isn’t what it used to be. In 2017, I now co-produce that show and we’re taking it towards a digital-first-and-only future.

HARDER WORK

I ‘ve paid my dues. It wasn’t easy. I mowed lawns, delivered newspapers, washed piles of dishes, and made at least 10,000 tacos. And that was the easy work before I finally figured out what I loved doing and got to do it.

W ith purposeful persistence and pure luck, I got into radio, television, and writing. All three required a knack for communication and design, and I fell in love. But like most first loves, I sucked. So, the lesson?

Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.

Project Hustle: Get Good

The thing about success is learning how to hack the system, and that takes time. Thousands of hours of VO work, writing critique, and reviewing tape of yourself in front of a camera will get you there. If you keep at it, you get good. Get Good.

What’s next? I’ve fallen for photography, design, and public speaking. I still suck at those, but 3AM mornings of hacking and hustling have made me better at them. So besides my work in media and the business of media, this is what I do.
